Busing Policy

HKIS requires all students to ride the bus to and from school. Schedules are as follow:

Students will use a bus card to access the school buses when aboard and unload. For details, please visit the school website: https://www.hkis.edu.hk/secure/dragonnet-home/bus-services

Students who live within a predetermined walking zone of the Repulse Bay campus may walk home with adult supervision. Students who live within this predetermined walking zone may walk home unaccompanied with a parent's permission. Parents must give consent in the transportation section of PowerSchool. No students are permitted to be dropped off or picked up at school by private vehicles. If a student misses the bus, they should wait to drop off until after 8:00 a.m. when buses are clear and then go to the UP office to record a late arrival. Walkers are expected to walk South Bay Close and should not be dropped off or picked up at school by private vehicle or taxi.

All parents, apart from those of walkers, are required to accept the mandatory busing requirement. Parents agree to these terms when they update their family information at the beginning of the school year on the PowerSchool portal. By signing off on PowerSchool, the school will hold all family members accountable to HKIS policies regarding busing and private vehicle access to the campuses. If parents do not abide by mandatory busing rules, their child's enrollment at HKIS could be jeopardized.

After-school Activities: Students involved in after-school activities are strongly encouraged, but not mandated, to take the 4:00 p.m. buses. These buses include a Bus Supervisor for student safety.
